- Processing fee: 0.5% of your total bill amount. Covers sending your full payment to your provider.
- Split fee: Up to 3%, only on the amount you borrow. Covers the cost of borrowing from Flex. Cannot be reduced with early repayment.
- Credit card: If you chose to pay with a credit card, a 2.5% surcharge applies. Credit cards may not be used for mortgage or car payments.

Can I split my electric bill?
Yes. Add your electric bill to Flex, choose how much to pay now, and pay the rest on a date you want, within 30 days. Your electric provider is paid the full bill amount when it’s due. It works the same way for gas and water.
Will my power or water be shut off if I split the bill?
No. Shutoff notices happen when a utility isn’t paid. With Flex, your utility is paid in full on the due date. Splitting changes when you pay Flex, not when your provider gets paid.
What if my bill is different every month?
Bills change with the seasons. With Flex, you choose how much of your bill to split each month or pay all at once. So a $220 January bill and a $110 April bill can be handled differently, for example. Change any of it when you need to.
What does it cost to split a utility bill?
There’s a 0.5% processing fee on your total bill, and up to a 3% fee on what you split (cannot be reduced with early repayment). Paying by credit card adds a 2.5% surcharge. Depending on your provider, these may already be covered for you.
Does splitting my utility bill build credit?
Utility payments aren’t currently reported to the credit bureaus. Flex reports on-time rent payments to Equifax, Experian and TransUnion, so if you also pay rent with Flex, those on-time payments are helping build your credit history.

Do I have to split my utility bill every month?
No. Pay any bill in full any month, and you won't pay a split fee. You choose bill by bill, month by month, and won’t have to reapply.
