FAQs
Frequently asked questions
Can I split my car payment with Flex?
Yes, if you qualify. Applying takes minutes and uses a soft credit check — it won’t touch your score. No refinancing. No changes to your auto loan.
How much of my car payment can I split?
You decide, up to your approved amount. You’ll see what you’re eligible to split in the app before you commit. Regular on-time payments may increase that amount over time.
When is my 2nd payment due?
Any day within 30 days of your due date. Move it if your plans change.
Is this a loan against my car?
No. Your car isn’t collateral for anything with Flex. Your auto loan stays exactly as it is — same lender, same rate, same term, same balance.
Will my lender know I’m using Flex?
Your full payment reaches your lender on its due date. What they see: a car payment made on time, in full.
How is this different from a title loan or a refinance?
A title loan borrows against your car. A refinance replaces your loan. Flex does neither — your loan stays untouched. Flex provides a separate line of credit to split your car loan into to smaller payments each month.
What does it cost?
There’s a 0.5% processing fee on your bill, and a split fee of up to 3% on your 2nd payment — charged only if you split. The split fee is based on how much you borrow and cannot be reduced with early repayment. There are no late fees and no penalties from Flex. And depending on your provider, these may already be covered for you.
Do I have to split every month?
No. Pay in full whenever you want, and skip the split fee. No reapplying to split again later.
Does splitting my car payment build credit?
Your lender already reports your auto loan to the bureaus. Paying on time through Flex keeps that record intact. Credit reporting through Flex applies to rent, not car payments.
