Credit Reporting Update & FAQs
We’ve recently updated our policy to help improve your credit in the long run. Before, we reported all payment history, good and bad. Now, with Rent Reporting, we’ll only report your on-time rent payments made through Flex to TransUnion, which will have a positive impact on your credit history.
Q: Why is Flex changing its credit reporting policy?
Flex is improving the credit reporting policy to maximize long term benefit to your credit history. The previous reporting under “Flex on behalf of BRB” may have positively or negatively impacted your credit history depending on a number of factors, including whether your payments against your Flex line of credit were on time. When you use Flex to pay rent and turn on Rent Reporting, Flex will report your on-time rent payments to TransUnion which will have a positive impact on your credit history.

Q: What is the difference between the previous reporting under “Flex on behalf of BRB” and Rent Reporting?
Previous reporting under “Flex on behalf of BRB” reported payments against your Flex line of credit to TransUnion. Rent Reporting, on the other hand, only reports your rent payments made through Flex to TransUnion. While the content of the reports are different, both reports help you build credit history. You can read more about Rent Reporting here.
Q: How does deleting the previous reporting under “Flex on behalf of BRB” impact my credit score?
Your credit score is calculated using many factors, including payment history, credit utilization, account age, and mix of credit. When we delete the previous reporting under “Flex on behalf of BRB”, it is removed from your credit profile and all information linked to it will be erased as if Flex never reported it.
Q: Is there an option to keep the “Flex on behalf of BRB” reporting on my credit profile?
Flex complies with FCRA regulation and applies the same credit reporting policy to all customers to ensure fairness and consistency. While we can’t make an exception and keep the previous reporting, you will continue to have the opportunity to build credit history through Rent Reporting.
